Cardiology fees for self-paying patients
If you do not have private medical insurance getting private treatment is still an option and should not deter you from seeking the right help.
The cost of a consultation, investigation and any treatment is often the same price as one year’s private healthcare with any of the main private healthcare insurers.
In addition, Dr Hamaad is able to arrange investigations for non-insured patients for fees that are much lower than those charged by private hospitals.
Please see the table below for a cost-comparison between Dr Hamaad’s fees for the most common cardiology tests and those charged by BMI The Priory:
|Dr. Hamaad||BMI The Priory||Saving|
|24 hour ECG monitor||£150||£370||£220|
|48 hour ECG monitor||£200||£482||£282|
|5-7 day ECG monitor||£300||£787-922||£502-637|
|Exercise ECG (treadmill test)||£200||£488||£288|
|24 hour blood pressure monitor||£150||£330||£180|
|Cardiac event monitor (Cardiomemo)||£200||£376||£176|
The average saving a self-funding patient can expect to make is £276 making Dr Hamaad the most competitively priced cardiologist in the region. For a typical patient who has a consultation, ECG and echocardiogram the total fee of £520 is significantly cheaper than the fee that would be paid to BMI (£807) giving a total saving of £287.
For self-paying patients who are travelling from outside the Birmingham postcode, I will deduct any reasonable travel costs from the final fee, therefore, providing an even greater incentive to get treatment.
